never thought I would want a list but now find myself needing one just to remind me: Clio V6 230, 5 gt turbo, 5 Gordini turbo, Megane RS 300 Trophy.

All, quick random one - can someone remind me where the VIN number is on the car? I’m travelling at the moment and need to ask Mrs Trikster to take a photo of it..... tia

From memory it is in a little window in the bottom margin of the windscreen - near the left corner.

Is there any way to set the audio to mute or drop to a low level when the reversing sensors activate - so you can actually hear them (like you can in most other cars)?

I normally just watch the screen for visual distance guidance when reversing.

If you want to mute the stereo then pretty sure you pull back + and - on the volume control next to steering wheel.
Its all about the corners. :A610

Yep. I use the mute. Just that other cars automatically drop the audio when the sensors are bleeping.

My voice recognition frequently doesn’t work and needs the infotainment to be rebooted - ie wait with car off until restart displays mountain pic (not convenient). Anyone else?

Mine works fine (within the limited range of functions available) - even has no trouble with my accent.

Out of interest - how often do you use voice rec?

Mine gets used every journey to phone someone or play the SD card. When it works, it works well. However, the symptoms of it not working are that the little button on the control pod does nothing. Its like the system hasn’t initialised.

Certainly not as much as you so my findings may be statistically weak. I tend to use it for navigation mainly, and the occasional phone call, though I have used it to play music a few times. Not had the issue that you have. I notice that some on FAR have software glitches of one sort or another, but I have only had one occasion when the system has gone AWOL and that was when I was stationary and setting up some options. It hung and I had to switch off and on to restore sanity.

Car Cleaning Kit

Postby reprs » Tue Mar 26, 2019 10:11 am

Can anyone help me with this? The Alpine Car Care Kit 6020080001

https://alpinecars.com/en/accessoires/car-care-kit/

Apparently it's available from "your Alpine Centre" and I was told it was £60 with the bag. Now told it's £80 and they don't know
a) if it comes with the bag
b) if they've got one
c) "their asp from their elbow"

I do know that some centres sell the bag separately which some owners use as auxiliary storage between the seats. I think the price I saw for the bag alone was £39 (or was it 39 euro?)

I tried ordering the laptop bag. First I was told it was available and coming soon then I was told it was no longer available and my order was rejected despite being on the merchandise website. There has been no update since.

Sadly it seems next to impossible to order 60 part number Alpine spares and accessories, however there is some chance if they have a 77 Renault part number and are in stock with your local dealer. I had some success with ordering Alpine clothing from my Renault dealer by using the part numbers from the packets in the Alpine centre and the prices were much better too.

The online parts ordering system for trade partners still does not work. You can see the exploded diagrams but no part numbers or prices :-(

Amazingly and I didn’t think this would be possible it’s actually harder to order parts and accessories for the new cars than the old ones when they were 29 years out of production.

A shame as they could sell loads of the merchandise eg car care and breakdown kits to old and new owners. Come brexit it will probably be impossible to buy anything at all lol
