Key cutting

Postby mettersl » Thu Apr 26, 2018 5:56 pm

Hi...has anyone found a source of people that can supply and cut new keys for these cars.
I ideally need a blank for the a610 plipper key (fits Clio etc) and a standard door key cutting as I only have one.
Any recent keys cut...please can you point me in the right direction,my local key cutters don’t stock the blanks any more.
Thanks
Lee

Hi Lee

I got a key cut for my GTA at the local locksmiths in Newark. It was a plain key not a plip one, but works fine.

Have you tried Timpsons ? They carry a big range of blanks .

I got a spare set of keys cut from a local locksmith in Sussex last year. I would keep looking around other places for someone that has them. They're not flying off the shelves, but many locksmiths still have some Renault key blanks left. Nigel

Thanks...out local Timson’s looked blank, but the other locksmith said he could order them in...but not the plipper blank. Renault can supply these for some cars but not mine as they have lost the key records for it.
They don’t seem to sell blanks.
I’ll try cambridge next....

Shaun recently had his 310 keys cut at Timpson, think blankness/helpfulness depends very much on the individual store.

you should be able to get blanks from the likes of ebay or autojumble .... then just get Timpsons to cut them.

I got a couple cut in Sheffield’s oldest locksmiths for the GTA

http://www.hharrold.co.uk

They cut them from my snapped in two key at the time. Couldnt find anywhere else who even had the 1st idea, could be worth a call.

Thanks everyone,
We managed to get a blank ordered in by the better of our two town locksmiths, but I’m still hunting a blank to fit the remote version of the key...it’s a shame to have a remote key with no blade....
Cheers
