A610 Fuel Filters & Best Brake Fluid to use?

Postby Bazzer501 » Thu Sep 21, 2017 3:52 pm

Hi all,

My 1993 A610 is due for a full major service in a month or so's time by which time it will have completed just over 50,000 miles.Because of the lack of mileage the standard service dates are all over the place.
Can anyone advise what the Part Numbers are for the filters/whether they are easily available/if so where can I purchase these from, any advice welcome.
I'm planning on getting my local independent Renault guy to service the car and he has worked on a number of GTA's and A610's before.
Also can anyone advise what is the best Brake Fluid to use as my car is due for a brake fluid change as well.

Any advice welcome.

Cheers, Barry.

Brake fluid.

ATE SL6 if your ABS works
ATE ATE TYP200 if it doesn't work. Replaces ATE Super Blue which has recently been banned.

Why is it banned??

Ok did a quick search and found this...

https://hooniverse.kinja.com/braking-ne ... 1154188522

So if the yanks dont like the blue colour... then why are we banning it?? seems stupid for just a colour?? but I am guessing that you wont be able to buy it anymore so will have to change it at some point... :Douh

It's the same story under EU law as well. No dye.

There are now lots of threads on how to dye your brake fluid lol

Hi all,
Thanks for the information on the brake fluid, a great help but does anyone have any information on the part numbers/type of fuel filters for an A610...?

Stephen, do you have any in the RAOC Warehouse... ? :-)

Hi all,
Following on from my thread above whilst browsing some French Alpine sites I found out that Mecaparts:
http://www.mecaparts.com one of the French Alpine Renault specialists supply a number of spare parts for the A610 along with the two fuel filters sold as a pair so I bought a pair from them on line.
I guess I paid over the odds for these if only in postage from Bourges in France but at least I would have a pair and I'd be able to find out the part numbers and who makes these.

The fuel filters arrived after about four days and are as follows,

The front small fuel filter is a MAHLE Ref: KL25, made in Germany. No other numbering on it.
The second bigger rear fuel filter is a BOSCH Ref: 0 450 905 084 made in Spain. This also has another number printed on it: 205.10.1.69 and a separate number 983 in a circle.

After having looked on Google it transpires that the Mahle filter fits quite a number of Audi, Porsche, BMW and VW cars and the Bosch filter fits BMW 3, 5 and M1 cars amongst others and both appear to be available from many on line sites including EBay.
So the mystery is sold and if your looking for A610 fuel filters then these are the ones to go for.
These have since been fitted and match the old ones that were removed. I also understand that these fuel filters are different to those fitted to the GTA so are not interchangeable between the two models.

Happy Christmas to all members, cheers, Barry.

Thanks for those cross references Barry...got a pair of Bosch items from Euro car parts as a result (they actually list then for the A610 too). Not so sure about their air filter cross reference though, its the same as the GTA turbo....
Today they have a 50% off offer with free postage too.

Hi Lee,
The UK company Green Cotton do a washable/cleanable air filter that fits the A610. I purchased one via Simon Auto in Germany only to find that I could have bought one in the UK. There are a number of Renault UK applications that fits the A610, ya lives and learns...! Ref: R556436.
