I want the new alp to succeed believe me but I don't know if any have been delivered but l would be on the phone to the best engine mappers to try and get that unit up to 280/90.
Other wise the next one will undoubtedly have a lot more to keep up which would then make the value of the early cars well mack your own mind up.
I love the look of the new car, but now if You where going to spend your hard earned money on a new car what would you have?

Meh I wouldn't be swayed but I'm not part of the current market right now.

I like the lightweight everyday driveability and the good looking package. I don't want power. If that's what I am after I have plenty of other cars I can choose from over here. All the Muppets over here have a porsche.

All this talk and comparison with Porsche's Cayman is all very well but in my opinion it depends if you want to follow the crowd or be a bit more interesting.

I had an interesting experience at Bedford Autodrome last week on a track day in my old 911. My friend took is Alfa Guilia Quattrofromagio (or whatever it's called) and apart from it being absolutely unbelievable on the track it also attracted a lot of attention from BMW M2 M3 and M4 drivers of which there were many.

The approach from five different BMW owners went something like this:

"That is gorgeous, Can I have a sit in it? (Yes) What's it like? (Fabulous) Is it reliable? (Totally)"

Fast followed by the comment "I was thinking of getting one of these but I bought BMW instead" and I have to say I recognised more than a hint of disappointment from all of them for "playing safe" and following the crowd.

The Alpine will be brilliant, it will be different, and new owners should look forward to plenty of interest from those who "played safe" and chose the Cayman. It will happen!

It doesn't matter so much to me about absolute power or performance because it can't be used to its full extent anywhere in normal life. Comparisons are interesting but not the be all and end all.

Well, maybe it's too early to say but I reckon 12,000 miles since March 2017 isn't bad for starters. We'll see.

Sorry if your experience has been different.

Not my experience but lots of horror stories around on the forums already. A bit like Renault the old Alfa track record could be better :0). The upside is it makes them nice and cheap secondhand :0). Hope yours stays reliable :0)

Any new info from your guy on the inside didz?

Also if I remember right press test drives are going to begin soon?
