Mine was a 1965 Fiat 500 Giadarina ( Estate). I paid £100 for it in 1971 when I was 17. I turned it over 2 days after I bought it. I pushed it back onto it's wheels. Fixed it with rattle can paint. It then caught fire in my parents drive. Fixed up again until it failed the MOT. I scrapped it, then really went up in the world by buying my mates 1957 Austin A35 for £40

There's been lots more shite since then too. :D

My dad had a 30 also at the same time. A TS version which was the 2.7 Carb'd unit. So my PRV days started early.

Three hundred quids worth of Opel Manta. Wish I still had it, but then I guess thats the common mantra (gettit?) of the middle aged car enthusiast. Then more 5 Gordinis than you could shake a stick at....

Going off topic for a second, being from those shores it might interest you, as well as my Alpine and my Alfa, US iron is my area of interest, this is my '70 429 T-bird with my good lady's 260 '79 Delta 88.
Outside of the continental US it's thought that the highest concentration of US iron is in Scandinavia, show we go to every year or so pulls in 20,000 cars to the arena plus thousands more around town
My last was a '71 302 Cougar, hers a 69/70 Frankenstein Montego with a Torino front.
Roadrunner/ GTX is her all time dream car

Back to topic, first car was a '79 Chevette hatch. Meant to be a 1256 but someone had stuck an 1100 in it.
5 years, 70,000 miles, 2 engines, 5 clutches, 2 gearboxes, first accident, first dating car, also where I learned most about taking cars to bits and (mostly) getting them back together.
Had loads of fun in it, learned what the handbrake did, learned how to pop the clutch, hence the 5 clutches, my driving style has matured slightly now...

Veering back off topic for a minute... Neat cars Bob. A friend bitd had a 70 TBird like yours 'cept it was white/red/red. Built like a tank with a very unique interior design.
Coincidentally, American cars and Alfas are two of my main interests too. I have read about the number of American cars in Scandinavia, and have seen some magazine coverage of the event you refer to; we cant get that many at one show over here!
