Wanted: some interior bits for a 1987 GTA

Postby Shutit » Mon Aug 14, 2017 12:10 am

Hi all,
Bought a 1987 GTA RHD and I need a few interior bits, can anyone help?
Parts needed are;
1: glove box catch and lock complete. Completely missing on mine!
2: infra red plastic cover that is on roof panel between the visors.
3: piece of carpet/trim that covers the pedal mechanism. Missing!
4: better gear knob with unworn leather or what is a close alternative to the original?
5: passenger mirror motor not working. Any going spare? Adjusting switch is poor too.
6: passenger electric window lifting mechanism. Motor works but window not moving.
7: Renault owners/drivers manual
8: gas struts for rear glass
9: engine: good exhaust box or better again stainless one!
Thanks!
Cheers
Eddie

I bought struts for the engine cover of my A310V6 from this Company. They are agents for Stabilus struts. The only reason I searched for Stabilus was because we had an Alfa Romeo Giulietta at the time and the struts on the car were Stabilus. So it was just a strut manufacturer name to search on.

http://www.faparkes.epicoriscala.com/stabilus_en.htm

Before I contacted them I searched the Stabilus site and they listed the A310 so I quoted the reference number to FA Parkes, they gave me a price and I bought a pair which have worked well for the last 3 years. Stabilus list struts for the GTA, rear and front, as this link.

http://www.stabilus.com/products/search ... 7A%25253D1

They didn't list a front strut for the A310 and I bought one from this Company, in case anyone needs one for an A310.

http://www.sgs-engineering.com/car-boot ... boot-strut

As you can see they do the rear struts for the GTA also.
1970 A110V85 and 1980 A310V6.

Hi Eddie.

GTA struts were available from the factory a while back (front and rear - I replaced both sets). Steve may have them in stock if you ask.

Gear knob is available from Renault - about 15 quid or so. Bargain, and about the only one that has the correct shift pattern.

Everything else is unique, but BigM usually has a good used supply. Exhaust - better to go stainless and there are a few options out there.
I'm just here for the gasoline.

Only thing I'll add...For the rear gas struts ..if you are buying pattern parts..check if they have the conductors for the heated windscreen. I bought some that did not...so they are in the parts cave..

Thanks guys, that is a good start for me from all your replies.
I did not think of trying Renault for any parts, just assumed they didn't do them. Will see if the local dealer can help with the gear knob.
Martin is also looking for parts for me,
Cheers

IR sensor cover is 7701030528. About 5.00.
Renault genuine parts claim it's available but they are a bit unrelaible on this measure, so best to email them and ask.

Went to my local Renault dealer parts dept. in Limerick last Friday, they were very helpful but did not locate the IR sensor cover on the system. It was good to see that the Alpine is still showing, but as most of you know already most parts are not available although some service items and bushes did come up. Will try them first for parts just in case they have them!

Eddie,
I live shuttling between Galway and Sussex. My car was in Ireland until recently and I used the local Renault dealers in Galway quite a few times. They were very helpful, but didn't know anything about Alpines because they were never imported new there. However I went in with relevant photocopy pages from the Renault parts book. They then found the parts, & if they were still available, ordered them in 2-3 days either from Britain or France. Service was good.
