Wanted: Renault Spider Front Anti-Roll Bar

Hi All,

I'm looking to source a replacement front anti-roll bar for my road going Spider (one of the legs on the original has snapped unfortunately).

Does anyone happen to have one lying around for sale, know of one or where to get one fabricated?

Not sure if it's the same part as the race cars - it appears to have multiple fitting options suggesting it could have worked in both road and race cars.

You may be in luck - I think I may have one in my box....make that room of parts to sell that I haven't tried to sell yet!!

the road one is different, what part has broken? the drop links or the centre section? photo?

When I was looking for a new ARB for my GTA, I found a couple of places around Sheffield who will make them for you if you can specify them....and surprisingly good value.
Fortunately, Stephen had a GTA one in stock so I didn't have to have one made.

Eastlmark- It's the drop links rather than the centre section I believe but will get hold of a photo from the garage and upload it here. Thanks for confirming parts are different

Mettersl- Sheffield and a fabricator could well be the direction this is going - sounds like a potential lead; any idea what the places were called or I'll start Googling? I figure with the classic racing scene being such a thriving industry now, there must be a few places around that make obscure metalwork for rare models.

I found them through google, but I'll have a rummage next time I use the PC and see if I can get you a bit more information.

I've enquired with Gartrac and whilst they won't do a one off, they would do a minimum order of 10. Is there interest from the club in getting a set made up for stock for others in the future?

I would be up for on set for a start. Stephen Dell, maybe the club could invest? Seems a common issue.

Is that the complete bar or just the drop links ?

I was thinking complete bar including drop links as apparently one of the drop links has snapped off the bar on mine (photo evidence along shortly) and will either need specialist welding or a full bar and links replacement. Sounds like the drop links are available separately and designed to be welded to the bar though?

Solved! Thanks to Chris & Stuart at Mole Valley Specialist Cars (www.mole-valley.co.uk) the front ARB has been fixed by their local specialist welder (turned out to be a clean break on the leg attached to the bar so relatively easy to repair).

For future reference, Adam at K-Tec was very helpful and had been another option for a replacement ARB if it had come to that...
