Alpine Tom wrote:I found the unit requires an ingniton switch live from the indicator tell tales (yellow wire 5) in order for the directional indicators to work, which i don't think is clear from the manual

After Tom's post and the comment about the manual not being clear, I decided to look into this.
From the Main manuals diagram, it seems pretty well cut and dried, so I cross checked the diagram with the electrical wiring manuals, and all became clear......... the main manual's diagram if wrong ..... Good spot Tom :up ..... I went back through all the model year electrical manuals in case there was a change from the 1986 model year (the year the main manual was produced for) and all model year manuals are the same which proves the diagram in the main manual is incorrect.
So below, I have redrawn and corrected the Flasher Unit diagram showing how it should have been drawn in the first place using the information from the electrical manuals.
Let me know if there is anything ambiguous about the drawing and I will modify as necessary.

PS. Neither the main or electrical manuals mention or show the side indicator repeater lights. But these will be wired in parallel with either the LH or RH indicator lights respectively.

Just a note to say I have added some further detail to the above Flasher diagram, and a PS about the LH & RH side repeater Indicator lights.
I hope this is of interest to some members. :)
