Running a bit rich

Postby Wrightbr » Mon Apr 10, 2017 10:16 am

Went out in my GTA Turbo yesterday and was followed by my brother who noted it's running a bit rich. It passed it's MOT last year fine in emissions etc but is there any mixture adjustment that can be done ? Seen threads about the CO pot on side of engine bay but which way do you turn the screw to make it run leaner?

Thanks
Brad

Take the car to your friendly MOT station and after checking emissions, ask them to adjust the CO pot with a small screw driver. I think it is more for idle mixture, but not 100% sure.

Idle only. What makes you think it's running rich Brad?

I'm assuming smoke but when?
I'm just here for the gasoline.

My brother said he could smell unburnt fuel on full throttle. Exhaust pipes look like it's running rich as well ?

Thanks

How much have you used it so far this year? It probably needs a good long run with some blasts to get it running better. I think the term is "Italian Tuning".

Could it be a fuel leak instead?

Deffo not a fuel leak. Don't drive it a lot only second time out this year (it still only done 31k) so will try the" Italian Tune up" next time out! Also put some redex injection cleaner in it.
