Postby Alpine Tom » Sun Apr 03, 2016 9:39 pm

Hi all, how's the OCD amongst us feeling after this photo lol!

So.... The question I have is does anyone know where I can get hold of the correct lcd top section of the radio please?

Thanks

Late model that one... pretty rare. Good luck!

Oh, I have an early car , registered Aug 1986, and it has that upper unit.

lower unit is quite different though, mine is as per workshop manual, page C-44.

And pages C-43 to C-48 describe the operation and basic trouble shooting.

Looks like you have a mis match there Tom. You have an early top (lcd display) and a late bottom. Might be why the two don't communicate? What's the problem with it?

Thanks for the replays, when I got the car there was only a regular CD player installed (badly!) and I have been trying to source an original in an effort to make the car as factory as possible in the long run, a few other things to do too!!!!! So far I have an earlier model radio gifted to me but it's a late model car which would have had the newer radio and lcd.
I found the radio from an R25 however the top section is different. So....... nothing works as there not compatible apparently, I have hope I'll find the lcd some time in the future! If anyone does hear of one I'd be great full. Thanks Tom

Hi just to finish this post I managed to find an lcd unit. I posted on a Renault owners club Facebook page and go a lot of replies. This stereo was used in the espace mk. 1. Earlier and later model radio. So I managed to pick one up from a nice guy called Phil how supplied the wiring loom connector that had been cut out of my car for an after market unit.

So in the end the top unit came from an Espace and the bottom from an R25 but I got there in the end.......

Just need a new LCD screen to replace the blacked out one now .... Never ends lol

:up

Were there anymore offered? Might help other owners out. There can't be many Espace MK1's left either so still a rare find.

Hi mvs, yes there was another later unit but again the lcd was blacked out. I think there may be more at one of the contributers breakers yard, not sure where.
