Magnecor - quick question

Postby pgoldsmith » Thu Jul 07, 2016 11:54 am

Looking into replacing my original lead set with Magnecor type.

They list 7, 8 & 8.5mm. Do all these sizes fit into the original lead clips ?

Searched the forum but couldn't find an answer.

I have the KV85 8.5 mm leads fitted to my car. Seem to remember it was tight ish to install them but once in the rails, they stay put and seem to work well.
It says 6551 on the box, guessing that's the part number for the set.

I have 8.5 and yes it's tight but they do squeeze in.

Thanks for the replies.
So, if I'm not using it for competition use then is there any reason to go with 8.5 instead of 8 or 7 ?

Girth! :wtf

Not much reason really. I don't think the 8.5s were much more expensive, but they're all made to order, so really down to personal choice. Read the specs though - I can't remember if the 7s were a different construction, but I think you'll be fine whatever you opt for.

Can you not get hold of the standard leads?
I was not overly impressed by the magnecor leads, they were the 7.5 ones.
Delivery took ages too.
