To be fair, it was a low owner, low mileage car (you know, the ones that every one wants) which was very tidy and was used regularly without any issues that I was aware of in the colour that Richard wanted. I went out in it a couple of times with Martin and it was as sweet as a nut. That's the thing with cars though, you just never know until you own them. As for unnamed specialists, hardly Big MVS's fault.

Maybe look a bit closer to home lol :Butt

Seriously though not sensationalised he had a bad run with that car and I had first hand experience of the problems with the unnamed specialist and high resto quotes via phone calls at the time. It was me that pointed him in another direction.

I reeled off all of the specialists to Richard and I think he first went with the one closest to him. So technically it probably was my fault John. Chuck me the spade this hole is getting deeper.... I then recommended Clee when he got quotes for the welding. That may have backed up Steve's recommendation as well...

As we have now found out I don't think one A610 has passed through either John or Lee and not needed some degree of welding.

Again, in your defence this was sold at a time that the degree of work required on Alpine's was largely unheard of and the blue car was one of the better ones you had seen, hence why you bought it after viewing 5 others (all of which were worse than that car I believe?)

He's probably spent the equivalent of a new BMW's depreciation over the first 3 years of it's life on getting the car to a mint condition and can almost certainly get his money back with an upward appreciation curve happening on classic cars too.

I'm sure you won't lose too much sleep over the situation ;)
