Power outlet in a Spider

I need to install at least 1 power outlet in my Spider (TPMS/battery conditioner etc) so the question is easy - where have you fitted one (or a USB port).

Please can you post up photos so I can just copy my preferred location.

If you have done anything else you are impressed with then please also post a photo just to keep me entertained

Velcro to the side of the tunnel or similar.

IMO Don't drill holes anywhere if you can help it unless it's a removable or replaceable panel.

Yeah, I agree with Stephen.
I'm planning on fitting a flexy cable with a socket on the end and leave it in the passenger side cargo net in the footwell.
This type of thing.

As for the heated seat controls......?

Think I am going to work on the basis that mine is not original to start with and therefore a well position/professionally installed power socket will not really affect anything. It also needs to be reasonably visible as I have wireless TPMS valves to add to the new wheels so need somewhere to plug in the display.

I have installed them previously to my Noble and Cobra without issue. I also added electric windows and mirrors to the Noble which were seen as upgrades - are the Spider mirrors bespoke or out of the used parts bin of another model

Shame I can't add electric windows but I am sure I will find a reason to run electric into the doors!!

I find part of the fun of ownership is in the tinkering besides the driving.

Mirrors are Citroen CX. Used on several other cars as well.

I intend not to drill any panels at all and like Rupert, was going to use the passenger footwell cargo net to hold the sockets

Not seen remote closing yet though so there's a challenge...

I use one of these to power two sat nav's for Macon ...... one for a sat nav switched to kilometers, to reset trip info between way points, and the other to keep an eye on the Alp on the moving map which can help in looking ahead for the next way point to check you are on the right course.

You will note it also has two USB sockets available to charge phones etc. ..... and being flat sided, it can be velcroaded to any flat surface using self adhesive velcro.

just tried an iPhone app called Waze and was able to use this and listen to music at the same time

Doesn't need any power socket to run the phone, just need to keep the charge going for a journey to Macon

Well I have managed to find a suitable location and bracket to fit both a power socket and USB charger in the passenger well and a further socket in the drivers well. This is the power socket before the USB charger was added next to it. They are all placed above the chassis area so should not get in the way of the foot well at all yet remain easily accessible.

This is the bracket which I attached to the underside of the dash. There is a small flat recess which was just perfect. Yes I did drill some holes in and added a couple of U fasteners but there are not going to be removed and even if there were you would not see the holes unless you had your head in the foot well.

I can now monitor the tyre pressure, watch the satnav and charge the iphone.

Just in case you are concerned about battery usage then I also added a charging point and volt meter under the front clam.
