Does anyone know if you can get a new pressure switch suitable for 134a that is a replacement for the existing or R12 for a 610.
After rebuilding the pump and the entire system there were no leaks, and it fired up fine big relief.
I went for 134a as it is the most common gas and I can get it topped up as and when necessary in most places, I know the performance might be slightly lower but it's done now.

What's the problem with the existing switch Custard?
if its tripping because of too much pressure, a new switch isn't going to help?

Did you change the pipes to reduce the permeability? I guess whatever it will see you through the summer (and Macon...not that I'm jealous at all) ;=((

Looks like it trips on high and low pressure, but I'm not sure why it would change with the gas type?
This looks like the right part...but I havent checked for sure.

Well changed all the o rings even in the pump, I was more concerned about the electrics working tripping all the fans pump ect, as I think it has been along time since the car has had it working. It was only tripping in and out in short bursts as it was -2 outside, but the AC chap said it would pay to put a sw in that was for 134a. I could not believe I had no leaks as there are a lot of joints on the 610 system.

Sounds like a good result, guess you have to degas to change the switch though.....

Yep he said run it for a week or two then he is coming back to de Gas change sw and change receiver dryer.

I had a look at the switch on the GTA set up I have, but as its under the car the labels are all unreadable, isn't this nice and clean on a 610...on mine you could read the lable clearly, it must be a pretty standard part....gas end anyway and changing the plug to match can't be too hard.

This was the switch Jon "Viola" previously suggested for his GTA (I had printed off his old post on here....diavia 043118/1 with a Delphi skg017047/1a receiver/drier) the sticker suggests compatibility with both r12/r134..the 4pin connector you need s an in line audio type apparently.

I'm sure you could find data sheets and work out if this might suit your A610 use in terms of fit and pressure thresholds.

My A/C switches off as the system gets too cold and ices up.

I now run the system on it's lowest setting via the front boot mounted (on GTA) system controller. This is fine even in the French sun....

Thanks for all the info. I put an order in with a chap who said he could get all the bits that I needed and I didn't want to tempt fate as I didn't reckon it would materialise, as I thought the receiver dryer was no longer available. Well I was amazed the dryer looks like it's the right bit of kit, The switch is 4 wire but has different terminals on, so I'm not quite sure how to find out which wire goes where as electrics are not my strong point. I have spent the last 2 evenings wrapping and wireing 30m of heat wrap.

Wow, that wrapping must have caused some back ache...I have horrible memories about access in that area.
There are a couple of wiring diagrams below. The switch is 206, the wire colour abbreviations in French.
The receiver drier looks good, is there a window in the top?

Yes I'm not in any hurry to do it again but the transformation in the reduction of heat in the engine bay is amazing. Thanks for the wiring diagram I'll leave that to the AC man. Hopefully the car is now totally complete and everything works. A few little tidying up jobs and I'm there, and then after the Mac run and I'll see if the car still has an appeal, because the red one still draws me more.
