A610 rear window steaming up

Postby r5gordini » Tue Feb 23, 2016 4:51 pm

Hi All,

I am a little concerned that I may have a coolant leak as the rear window always mists up. Particularly if I've been for a drive and let the car sit for a few minutes after shutting it down. Is this normal, or should I be concerned? I don't think I'm losing much (if any) coolant as I have been monitoring it, but I just want to know if it's normal. Like most other cars, the rear window heated element isn't working.

Sounds like condensation caused by cold air out side and nice warm engine in side. My GTA will do it depending on how long a drive and how cold it is.
Just my thoughts and should go with the on set of warmer weather ;)

Perfectly normal Andrew. Mine does the same and my rear heated hatch doesn't work either.

Mine mists up. Sounds normal. I've also got to glue the rear window heater wires back onto the heater element. I don't suppose anyone has this job to do and fancies sharing the cost of the silver filled epoxy? It's something like £80 a tube last time I was mulling this on the to do list

New rear screens much bargain-ness at the moment if you want a guaranteed fix. Buried deep though in interim storage so no chance of delivery any time soon :-(

I'd also be interested in one. Depending on the bargain-ness! Also need a nearside door mirror...

Actually ...as an aside Mr Dell does have some carpets for GTAs..I was going to ask him about those.... I'll have to make a trip to the bazaar...
