Baby Alpine joins the Fleet

Postby Tony Smith » Fri Mar 27, 2015 6:28 pm

Renault 5 Gordini Turbo / 5 Alpine Turbo, finally managed to get this ready to use. Still needs a few bits of snagging and the boost/jetting set up but have the outside looking how I want it now :0)

If the car holds up well over the summer I may take it to Croix. Depends whether I make a long weekend of it like I have in recent years in which case the girlfriend will come and a less extreme car i.e a GTA

The seats are Sparco Sprints in red Miles, would suit your anorexic frame perfectly :0), my wider hips are a tight fit :0). Its not low on one side Andy the drive is heavily cambered but it doesn't really show in the pics . I'll post up some pics of the interior once I finish off a few bits. Stuck with red as the original interior was red.

You're a tall chap Tony. Any reason the drivers seat is set that much higher than the passenger? Plenty of headroom in a 5 compared with a GTA I guess.

Hi Darren passenger seat isn't bolted in in pics, I need to lower the drivers seat too as I can't get a helmet on in it as it stands. Might do some sprints in it once its sorted, don't think they are the best handling device in the world though :0)

I did wonder, you don't want your noggin leaving a dent in the roofline.

Looking good though. :up
