The southerly location is another nuisance for many folks; though it is helpful for cross-channel visitors.
A think the organisers are looking to build on the successes of last year. Goodwood was a lovely venue with a quite forgiving track.

Nail hit on the head there pretty much! A lot of consideration was given when choosing a venue for this event, with Goodwood ticking the most boxes for us.
We wanted an upmarket venue for and upmarket event. Having the venue within easy reach for our continental cousins to perhaps be tempted over too was something we were also keen on. Infact, Goodwood was a venue mentioned frequently by Clio v6 Passion.
Perhaps, looking ahead and if we think its appropriate, we may look at moving the event.. but for the foreseeable future it will be remaining at Goodwood.
Further to Stephen's comments regards noise limits.. whilst Goodwood were very flexible last year, please remember that it is a 98db static test limit. The odd car may be allowed slightly over this, but that remains at the discretion of the Goodwood team. Their decision is final, so it is up to each track user to ensure their car is of a suitable standard, including the noise level of their car.
98db.
