Advice needed

Postby crowth » Tue Dec 30, 2014 12:05 pm

Merry Christmas all! I find myself with an all-too-familiar urge to buy an Alpine and I've come across some GTAs for sale which have got me sweating a little. I was hoping the club might be familiar with these cars and hopefully be able to steer me clear of any rum'uns.

Firstly there is this GTA Turbo which looks too good to be true:

http://www.autotrader.co.uk/used-cars/renault/gta/used-renault-gta-2-5-v6-turbo-2dr-nottingham-fpa-201151437103120

And then there is this naturally aspirated example which gives me a warm feeling:

My current motor - get your mockery ready - is a 2.0 Hyundai Coupe so either example is a massive step up.
There are only two cars that I've ever really wanted deep-down: an Alpine or a Reliant Scimitar (I have a thing for V6 engines) and the Alpine is edging it at the moment.

Any advice you can offer me would be greatly appreciated.

Ta.

Thanks for that! I'll definitely call.

Found another, cheaper example that seems to have had the chassis sorted:

No kids, shopping or prams? If so get one bought!!!

Update your location so we know where you are and can point you in the direction of the closest cars for sale.

Yorkshire lad eh. Give clee a call for the rundown then I would suggest going to see the Met Red one in Rotherham if you are serious. He has 3 at the moment so that should give you a good idea of what they are like and the varying condition.

Good luck with the search and keep us posted.

Rumours of my northernness have been slightly exaggerated. I'm a Lincolnshire fenrat originally, but I've been up here long enough to learn that what I've just eaten is called "dinner". I'll definitely talk it over with Clee and Rotherham's only an hour away so that seems like the best place to see one up close. Is anyone out there using their Alpine as a daily-driver? I'm toying with the idea as I live close to work and don't rack up the miles too much...
