Bonus point goes to Vince.

The solex has an engine and was probably the most popular thing when we took it to a Lotus Festival at Brands recently. It's also great to go and get the bacon butties and cups of tea in mega quick time! :super

Nothing to do with the Wars. The car is a 1929 and there is a really simple reason why it is RHD.

The roof rack was a later addition. There is a motorsport link although only where the thing lived for most of its life..

I seem to recall quite a few countries in Europe were RHD until the 50's? Spain was one I think. Don't know about France though.

Was this an early French road sweeper!?

Well done. You get a Big MVS super prize for the correct answer. France only changed to LHD much later on. All French cars were RHD in 1929.

It's not a Salmson or a road sweeper though.

Ok, well since no one is doing much at the moment and we're playing Top Trumps style trivia, ten points to anyone who recognises one of these and can tell me the original purpose for which it was designed.

I secretly fancy one just for the mechanical absurdness. (No cheating and following the link either)
I'm just here for the gasoline.
