In three weeks advertised in the UK I've had a grand total of one enquiry. In one week for 10k Euro on Leboncoin I've had 8 enquiries, 7 of them serious. One of them from as far as Czech Republic. I've had three offers, all of which I have declined for the time being.

I think its very likely this car will be going to France. I know my name here will be mud, but unless we can find an Englishman to buy it then im afraid its inevitable.

I have to say though I do find this car infurating.. :MoreSarc Today Ive done about 130 miles over 5 separate trips (been to the Historic Bicester Scramble and to catch up with a few friends), given it a bit of a hoon a few times, and been smiling evey mile of it. The car has (apparently) returned 28mpg and hasn't missed a beat. On a day like this I want to keep it. But my need to pay my builder is sadly greater. :up

so what faults does it have? warts and all....... as I've been asked by the French crew about it, put it this way I could probably seal the sale for you..... you'll find an Englishman..... but he'll only want to pay mega bottom dollar for it.... the French will give you more but it must be "prix atractif"....they won't worry if it needs work or paint just be honest with them and they will come over and buy it, but it needs to be around 8k euro..... still way more than its worth so I've been reliably informed...... Allez Allez

Other than an occasional 'classic A610' cut out if its *stinking* hot and been allowed to heat soak a while then I've listed my problems very honestly. If it does cut it always runs immediately after key cycling it while rolling. I've told all my French enquirers about all the issues. The bad cutting out I used to have is gone for sure. Its had new TDC, some heatsheilding to protect it, new coil, plugs and MAP sensor to sort that.

The oily bits are all good and strong. The oil and water are both clean. No smoke and boosts well. Its ruddy powerful and pulls strong right through the rev range. Its a mechanically strong car.

The underside, rear frame and rear suspension are all painted with under seal so they are good. The front frame and front suspension are good but have some surface rust so they would benefit from being, cleaned up and repainted. Its all still solid though so no rust crisis that im aware of.

It does not have the fuel pump relay grounding wire that is widely recommended on here as when I tried it early on it made no difference and frankly its a very dangerous thing to do so I didn't like the idea of it.

Its behaved impeccably today. Not missed a beat all day. I'd accept an offer of 9000 Euro and deliver to Calais on me.

The real problem. Paint. Its a tatty car externally.

I am in the market for exactly this car... but a few months too early, I wont have the money till next year probably... unless you want a straight swap for a TVR 3000m !!!

so frustrating, I know I wont find an a610 when I have money burning a hole..

I've had lots of interest from France. Something like 17 enquiries and 5 offers.. But I've not accepted any of those.

Also four UK enquiries now, of varying seriousness... :thinking

I'm more comfortable with the long haul sell now than I was, the immediate financial crisis (shortfall..!) of the job on my house has been covered for the time being, and while im making serious efforts to sell the car, pressures at home seem to have lifted slightly.. :shhh

Hopefully you can keep hold of it Steve and continue the improvements and enjoy it, if not cest la vie. I would still if you can try and hold out till March/April, I'm pretty confident you will shift it then if you still want to sell.

She's sold, and I'm afraid it's gone to France. They collected this morning.

I've not heard from them so I assume it made it accross the channel.

And incidentally.. It sold for considerably more than 8k Euro.

Sorry for exporting it chaps. :down

Shame. So how many are left in the UK now?

Another one off to have the wide boy treatment?

normally the French will put the money into the car and restore it as the value of Lhd A610 s are very high..... but once they experience the "cutout" the dream of a "cheap Alpine bargain" disappears

Andy,

Are you really trying to say the LHD ones don't do the same? There are examples on FAR, they just don't like to talk about, as it's a bit :Butt :D
