High speed wiper fuse + sump gasket

Postby darrenbiggs » Sat Jul 12, 2014 4:19 pm

Does anyone know which fuse (and where) for the high-speed wiper action? Mine's stopped. It works fine on intermittent and normal speed, just the high speed that's no longer functioning so I'm guessing a fuse? :thinking

MOT on Tues so I'd like to get this sorted.

Also does anyone know the part ID for the upgraded sump gasket (i.e. not the cork one)?
I'm just here for the gasoline.

Can't help regarding the wiper fuse as the GTA could be different to the A310.
If you're buying from Simon Auto their reference is 011011A for the reinforced sump gasket and it's the same for A310, GTA and A610. The cork gasket is 011011 without the 'A' suffix.

There is no specific fuse for the high speed wiper function, but there are two fuses for the normal operation of the wipers. If you have an owners manual, page 72 shows the position of the fuses at No.'s 2 and 19. Fuse No.19 is the overall wiper fuse fed by 12v after ign, and Fuse No. 2 is the permanent 12v for parking the wipers even if the ign is switched off before they have reached their parking position.
Having looked at the circuit, I would be looking at the condition of the connector at the wiper unit itself, then the wiper switch stalk.
