Spark Plugs

Need to change the plugs on my car and have got NGK BKUR7ET. However, some previous plugs I took out are BKUR6ET which I guess are different temp range. NGK seem to suggest the 7's are the right ones but some French sites say the 6's. Anyone know which is the right one for definite?

Seen a few different types in the lumps I've pulled .Some running single prong most 3 .7 is the temp rating and what the GTA runs as the known good one also so I'd say YES .I have some OE direct from the Dellcave in stock if you want to try them or try Mr D ..I did order 5 ests but only have 2 so maybe supply has dried up ?

These mention C72LJS.

Handbook for my GTA states Eyquem 805 LJSP for the GTA Turbo and 803 LJS or LJSP for the non turbo.

Don't believe the C72LJS is the same is it ?

Those are all single prong .610 should run triple but I've seen all types in the 3l lumps .....

Cheers Lee. Both types of the NGK plug are 3 prong but was just a bit confused when I looked at some old plugs that I'd taken out (put in by a garage) that were the 6's. I've only ever used the 7's when I've changed them and that is what NGK list for the car. Been a while since I last changed them and car not starting well at the moment which I think is partly down to the plugs and partly down to the dizzy cap again.

Will change them all this week so I can to the Northern Meet in the car (hopefully!)

Plug temperature rating (the 6 or 7 bit) deals with the thermal conductivity of the plug, it shows in the amount that the electrode sticks out of the plug body.
It shouldn't affect starting (but can cause misfires under race conditions if you have the wrong plug) .
I ran my A610 on NGK BKUR7ET without any problems, in fact I have a set of new set of 7 (no I don't know why I have 7) sitting on the garage right now £11 delivered if you want them!

For my atmo...in a moment of weakness splashed our a set of Denso Iridium plugs...£42 off eBay..not sure if the extra £30 would be worth it. They arrived today.

( also arrived some magnecor kv85 leads, and new (well new old stock) cap n rotor).

Maybe I was taken in by the marketing and standard ngk would be better (eyquem standard plugs were there before)...thinking about cold starting...whether that will get better or worse..thinking the fine point will have hotter concentrated spark...anyway will soon see.

For a carb engine I want to get the best spark possible (recently starting from cold has been a challenge)...before looking at any other items to improve running.

Anyhoo...fitted it all earlier...and it at least started first time....will take her for a spin in the morn on a cold car to see if I notice any improvement...and if these plugs make any difference (though the new cap/rotor/ leads in themselves should make the car run better)...will post my findings..
