Fans?

Postby rupert » Mon Jul 25, 2005 5:36 pm

Two questions.
1. Is the off side engine fan for the turbo the same unit as the one from the near side in the atmo? What is the part no and how much?
2. Where is the connection for the flow meter on the turbo and on the atmo :?:

OK thats actually four questions.. or five :? .

1. As far as know yes. I'm sure David will look up the part number shortly. Cost: way too much, well over £100 anyway. Again sure that DG will advise of exact cost.

2. Flow meter on the Atmo is under the RH shelf in the engine bay. Don't think there is one in the Turbo. Thought the ECU worked it out as fuel supply rate is constant. Might be wrong though.

Thanks Stephen,

I have a spare atmo fan so that might be okay.

As for the flow meter, this means that it should be possible to clean up the contact in the hope of getting the trip meter working in the atmo... but as for the turbo, just trust the mile counter... 300 miles time to fill up. :?

Currently the fan on the turbo (both sides) are around £55+ VAT each from Renault. They arent the same part number as the one on the Atmo, which is £145+VAT, but that is the same unit used in the R5 GT turbo.

Interesting. I wonder why there would be a different fan in the atmo. If it's anything like the perc fans probably the same part with a different sticker or foam gasket!

The off side turbo fan is mounted in a different plastic moulding I think. Havent had a chance to look at the one off the atmo..
Easy to get to as well...... not

To clarify, yes, they are the same unit but with different part numbers because of the foam gasket. Just salvage the foam, order the cheap one, spend a few minutes and save £100.
