Uprated Suspension

Postby Tony Smith » Sun May 15, 2005 7:50 pm

Due to the purchase of a full coilover kit, I have for sale a set of 25mm drop springs and standard de Carbon shockers. The springs are 10% uprated and were especially made to my spec and are not available elsewhere. All the normally available lowering springs are 40mm drop and this is too much in my opinion. These springs still maintain excellent ride quality while improving both the handling and appearance. The shocks have done 40K miles and are in good condition with no leaks or damage. The springs cost £250 + a few years back (I still have the bill) when I bought them. I'm looking for £250 for the lot or £160 for the springs or £140 for the shocks.

Tony,

Would you split and sell the rear shocks only, mine are leaking so could do with some to get MOT before saving for a better kit.

Thanks

I can do that for you

Postby Tony Smith » Wed May 18, 2005 7:56 am

You can have the 2 rear shocks for £75 + p+p. If you like. Where abouts in the country are you, I can deliver in South London, or I always go to the monthly Alpine meets you can get along to one. Otherwise its about a tenner parcelpost

I might be interested too. Probably the whole kit if it's still there.

Still have them

Postby Tony Smith » Tue Jul 19, 2005 9:24 pm

These are still available, although I would like to make sure I like my coil over kit is nice to use before I sell.

Let me know when u decide if you like your new suspension or not. I'm interested in a small drop in ride height.

Cheeky but also very fussy!

Postby Tony Smith » Thu Jul 21, 2005 2:26 pm

I'm very fussy when it comes to my ride handling compromise, the coilover kit looks a good piece of kit but I'd hate to find I preferred my previous set-up and not have it to put back on. The previous set-up really was good I just wanted to drop the front of the car another 15mm or so.

i lowered the hillclimb atmo by 40mm with no adverse effects. the GTA sits, in my opinion, far to high with standard suspension.
still retains a smooth drive, not hard and choppy. :)

you must have different wheels fitted?

no buffing at all with the standard wheels.
