........how the f**k do yopu attach the handbrake gaitor so that it stays in place for more than 1 operation of the handbrake?

Either the gaitor is knackered or the housing it attaches to is.

There should be a "collar" that the gaitor attaches to?

I have the gaitor - looks like new

I have the collar, - was cracked now repaired

The problem is that the collar comes away from the handbrake surround.

It strikes me a s a stupid design made of margerine tub quality plastic

Yep, it's knackered

Keep your eyes peeled for a replacement or get the glue and margarine tub out again for a better repair

How is the collar held into the handbrake surround? My repair is stronger than the original. Is it just a push fit? My collar has some small holes that look like screw holes?
