Its Croft! Still in pre crash trim....a heavy car...must have weighed at least 3 kgs more back then!!!!
Simon.....still have the boot liner in it weighs so little and keeps the underbonnet looking nice for those picky Scottish scrutineers!!!!
Tony.....Race seats probably wont save you much as the standard ones are actually quite light unless youre planning on spending the best part of 2 grand on carbon fibre ones.
Would be interested to see what weight saving you get from the Kevlar bumper....could be one for over the winter I think!

Your seats Pete are 9kgs each, and I do carbon framless versions but the lowest they get down to is 7

I have seen 4kg carbon fibre race seats but they are without any padding and designed for serious racers......the class I'm in for speed events wont allow me to run unpadded seats. I will go and weigh a standard seat as I have one lying in the garage.

Standard seat is 13kg without the runners (I transferred them to the bucket seats) Saving of 4kgs......probably actually about 3 1/2kg as I had to make brackets up to get them to fit the runners.

Having decided to go for a front strut brace (a couple of small cracks have started in the fibreglass next to the front suspension turrets due to the abuse Ive been giving it......the turrets are obviously flexing a tiny bit) Ive removed the boot liner and partition. 4kgs saved!!!!! Ok so the strut brace will weigh that and maybe a little more....but at least its useful!

Have you just gone for the upper brace Pete or did you invest in the lower front aswell?

Only upper...and its not an Alpine one......its a universal fitment thats the right length.......will be drilling my own holes to save myself £100!!!!! I may well make a lower strut brace out of some small guage box section......will only cost a few quid and no one will ever see it! The only reason I bought an upper and didnt make it was because its on show to scrutineers and would have looked a little Heath Robinson.
Do you know where the genuine lower brace mounts????

It just bolts in between the main front chassis rails. in between the wheels. Ill see if I can find a picture..

Well.....the precious stereo is going! I can hardly hear it now and rarely have it on......besides a cute girl at work with large assets has offered to buy it! Carbon fibre panel over the gap and empty speaker holes it is then. Must be a good 5kg saving at least!
Anyone need the control panel thingumy?? Thats going too......it doesnt work particularly well as a clock when cut my battery on a daily basis!

just in case anyone is thinking I am adding weight when I do the chargecooler I'd like to point out I am in the process of replacing the door trim panels with carbon fibre to shed 9kgs.....about the same weight in my guesstimation as the chargecooler and water

just get 2 new doors made from carbon! they will probably only weigh a couple of Kilos each
