On the std one relay .Just check it's not running hot I suppose if you are concerned .
I think Jon's issue will be sensor not relays but probably is worth doubling the relays .
Those big ali rads seem to keep the system a lot cooler so fans aren't switching on as often .

Jon, I have just reread this quote of yours...... if you are accurate with that quote, there is something else wrong, as the rad fan/s/relays are energised by having the ign on..... they should not be running with the ign off. :?
BTW, have you confirmed that by unplugging the rad switch, the fans stop?

I will check out the route cause and report back, as it's back with me for tuning, and currently the battery needs to be disconnected all the time :evil:

... positive note, it does remind me to check the fuel level.... I did break down in Jon's old car due to spurious gauge readings, and got towed off the A1 by the traffic cops :lol: Given I'm mostly only driving other owners cars for tuning, I get the unfair share of break down events per Renault Alpine journey, and at one stage it was nearly every time out.. fuel system, burst hoses, leaks, gearboxes, clutches, ecu, sensors, shorts, broken wires, relays melted... you name it... only thing you need as essential equipment - phone, credit card, breakdown card, and a good book... LOL!
... A diamond is only a piece of coal that did well under pressure... PRV afflicted, may be I need to squeeze harder!!!!

The fuel gauge will at least need a reset. It's had a new level sensor but there seems to be a gremlin in there somewhere as it goes on and off at will....

Update time:

It turns out randomly both the fan sensor and temp gauge sensor had gone FUBAR at the same time!

I also replaced the relays with uprated items and did the same to my fuel circuit at the same time as I'm running an uprated fuel pump and injectors- plus seeing as they were all French items I suspect they might have been rather old!

Anyway all now working as it should be.
