For the first time since I have had my GTA I have had a chance to drive it on fast sweeping A and B roads that are dry and not full of Sunday drivers.

The handling is great :) much better than I expected with the limit of adhesion really quite high, keep the turbo on boost (obviously) and its really quite quick.

I reckon that A-B on the sweeping B roads of Worcestershire its as quick as my Tuscan because you can enter bends so much faster and carry the speed through, obviously on long straights the Tusc would leave it standing.

I am very pleased, really it was my first proper drive of the car.

The speedo also worked for the whole of the 100 mile trip, now to make the fuel gauge say something that actually resembles the amount of fuel in the tank rather than a random number between 7.8 and 9.1!

Have you had a geo done and have you got a printout. Rear end grip still sucks on my car despite changeing a few things.

Haven't got round to the geo yet, so its probably eating my rear tyres (lowered) But rear grips feels very good. I am running the 255 width tyres

255 Yoko's I think from memory ? They are quite sticky but don't last that long .

Yep. A rare tyre. If all goes according to plan next week they could be for sale - almost new with lots of tread :)

I'm going to persevere with the tyres I've just fitted and get the best geo setup I can as surely it can't be two sets of tyre with no wet weather grip.
Back to the topic though, glad you are happy with your car. I've been out in mine quite a bit lately and absolutely love it.

Blueg33, Have you checked your boost setting, it may have even more to give. A thread that i started a few yrs back proved quite a few GTA's are running under boost now. Unless re-adjusted.


From the Renault Workshop Manual.

M.R. 273. Page B-49

It states the D501, should have a maximum boost pressure setting of 850 millibar. 0.85 bar.
Which equals 12.3 psi.

It also states the pressure cut out should kick-in at 1.1bar. (15.9psi)
