RIP Alpine Thread

Postby BIG_MVS » Fri Dec 28, 2012 9:17 am

Here are a few pics of Alpines that have "bought it" over the last few years.

These are the 3 GTA's I have been slowly breaking over the last 18 months. They were all written off before I got my hands on them, one used to belong to an old famous member on here.

IKEA Flat pack GTA anyone?

Here's Goldie that I broke which in hindsight probably could have been saved

Image

Here is the second GTA I broke, it had been tw£tted twice on the front. It had the BBS wheels which are now on Cedric's GTA.

Image

Tried and tested engine removal technique

Image

This was "Rusty" from Scotland. It had the worst grot I have ever seen in a GTA

Image

Image

I believe the previous owner had the wheels refurbed (as you can see below) and fitted new tyres before taking it to the MOT man who is still laughing now

Image

So there you have it, these are where all your nice bits to uprate and save your very own Alpines have come from. Anyone got anymore pics of dead Alpines in the UK?

Did that rear subframe I had off you come from one of these?

Possibly, I can't remember to be honest.

I have also saved/broken parts from another 5 to 6 GTA's which were already in scrapyards/being broken already. When I last went to Renault Specialist Breakers in Accrington one of the old boys there said that they have broken about 20-30 GTA's over the years one being a Le Mans and also an A610.

You must have these bits that I need?

Courtesy light lens
IR receiver cover
Windscreen trim
Screws for front scuttle panel (the bit at the botton of the windscreen)

Cheers

Nick,

If I had those parts they would be on your car by now, sorry fella.

I have still got to check for the screws for the scuttle panel for you though so I'll have a look soon as.

It always worth asking frequently :) I learnt pestering from my kids.

Screws would be great. I have now sourced the IR cover.

Most of the stuff in the GTA and 610 has other uses with sometimes very small modifications. The courtesy light must have a real home in a 25 or espace maybe?
The widescreen trim was available from Renault at a silly price, but as you need to break the glass to get them out sh might be hard anyway.
Good luck with the hunting.
