Elsewhere in this forum, someone mentioned a kit to test for the presence of exhaust gases in the cooling system. I saw this used a few years ago by a RAC guy to check for cylinder head gasket failure. From what I recall, it consisted of a plastic water bottle and some chemical solution, which you simply connect to the expansion tank. I would imagine it is inexpensive but my local motor factor had no idea where the kits could be sourced from. Halfords don't list it in their product range. Any ideas where I could get one?
