What the hell is that

Mr Cooper - How is your GTA coming along? I don't see a project thread updated? Read an early "Le Journal" the other night when OMG I CANT GET TYRES!!! was all the news along with OMG I CANT USE UNLEADED FUEL IN MY GTA!!! You did a nice write up when you bought it from Aiden Peirs back in the day.

Tell me about it!

The GTA has taken a back seat at the moment I'm afraid, moved house in April and have to pull the engine & box out of the Cobra this winter - it has an oil leak on both  More important then the GTA as it is actually on the road for once!

However, I have not given up! Rest assured Mr MVS, the project thread will again glow with updates sometime soon :D

(I still have those old Le Journals somewhere........)

This is how the old girl is at the moment (note melted rad air scoop!!???)

The chap I bought my GTA from, before owning the GTA he had something like a french German Hybrid, GTA/Scirocco mix. Sounded to me the engine came out of a burnt out Le Mans as he told me it had a Cat. converter. Basically, the rear end of the GTA was cut out and placed in the Scirocco..... Reminds me a bit of Dell's Frankie, actually this is better

Something only its father would love..to corrupt a phrase, GTA front and rear scirocco in the middle, quite mad and ugly.

I wonder where it is now.....

.. yea  , but you've got to admire the stupidity of it, in true spazwag
style, you take a perfectly competent sports car and throw in a load more weight... But, there is some innovation there, you have got some user friendly German efficiency door handles... Having said that if it had the Scirocco dash that would definitely be an improvement - it probably still works :-)
... A diamond is only a piece of coal that did well under pressure... PRV afflicted, may be I need to squeeze harder!!!!

It did, written off, the engine went on the back of a VW Transporter which I think we have seen at a few shows.

Ah gotcha. I spoke to the VW owner and he said the engine came from a D502 GTA not a Le Mans hence why the standard bumper and nosecone were used on the front of that thing.

Why did it have a CAT? I thought D502's were all Le Mans??
