GTA Assistance

Postby Frans_GTA » Thu May 24, 2012 8:23 pm

Dear All
I've been tracking this forum for some time, and GTA for even longer (try 1980's - but honestly I'm not too old...)
Have just done a deal on non-Turbo GTA in what appears to be pretty good condition.
Am based near Lichfield (Staffs) - and potentially keen to get some guidance / input and having a once over done on her before taking her to the roads.
I travel up and down the A38 Derby direction daily... am I right in thinking Clee is up near Belper somewhere?

Welcome! :D

Clee is based in Heanor Derbyshire, just off the A610 (always makes me chuckle that).

Which car have you bought if you don't mind me asking? Maybe the club knows of it's history which may help.

Car is Blue standard non-turbo V6 - 1989 model.
'Tis due to arrive in 2-3 weeks time - currently SORN purely as not been 'officially' used in Donkeys years.
No pics yet... but looks fantastic (beauty / eye of the beholder etc).
Original owner (don't wish to divulge just yet) is ex-club member.. but that could very well be the other club.
Thanks Andy for Clee's details - will check the link out.
Wife did not exactly see eye to eye but I think I must have worn her down - she saw her first GTA (and had first test drive as passenger) some ten years ago but the search became much more extensive in the past year.
Am just a handful of miles down the road from Renault Cannock and the MD's pristine A610 which has featured in some lovely pics on this forum. I can attest to the quality of that model - having also been in to see it recently and saw it again last night on way back from yet another visit to my prospective GTA.
Photos will appear in due course... and at meetings too, I am sure.
To be sure - for the avoidance of doubt - I am from the Emerald Isle, with a strong dose of Alpine genes chucked in somewhere...

Thanks to support from Clee with contact details for transporter (came through with satisfactory quote)... just need to formalise insurance arrangements and the unenviable task of gathering the readies to hand over for the GTA from up north (comparatively speaking of course since I'm already in the north if you judge the Staffordshire to be so...):o)

Clee - I'll confirm transport arrangements with you as soon as balance payments sorted with the seller...

Clee
Funds now all in place ready to confirm transfer for the GTA.
Will reconfirm transport arrangements tomorrow... with both yourself and transporter in order to confirm mutually agreeable date / time... especially considering you're ramping up your prep on your blue gta for the lucky buyer featured on other threads. :D

Got a few space issues atm but should be sorted this week .Couple of cars to be collected or moved on for other work elsewhere .
I just fear for my testicles when Dawn finds out the fresh parking spaces are not for her Clio
Yours runs and doesn't need engine pulling does it ? That makes life a whole lot easier ....

Plenty of free space on the Emerald Isles!

Our cars have a very fast turn-a-round!

GTA runs so should be no bother to move about :D
Looking forward to collection / delivery and... fingers crossed, no significant concerns.
