That is for UK visitors that just want to attend the show on foot or extra passengers over above the two included. They now do not need to buy tickets in advance.

New UK club participants (from 1st April) from RAOC, V6CLIO, RTOC, RCCC etc who are displaying a car should register on the Festival Renault website and then pay us (RAOC) directly in GBP. £35 (instead of 40 Euro) per weekend ticket and we are making a bulk payment later to avoid the bank charges. If you have already paid in Euros then obviously you are also OK.

Cheque or paypal to payment@renaultalpine.co.uk

Quote your UTAC payment reference and surname.

They agreed to do something about it because we explained the problem and suggested another arrangement. So basically it was us who decided to do something about it.

SADLY CANCELLED

Dear all,

Further to the talks held during our March 24th meeting and given the level of subscriptions reached at the end of April, Renault has decided to postpone the date of the 1st Renault Festival from the 21st and 22nd of September 2012 to the 20th and 21st of July 2013.

Postponing the Renault Festival will allow us to move away from a very intensive period in terms of classic events during the second half of 2012 and will give you more time to prepare this event for which your contribution is essential.

The discussions we’ve had so far and the encouraging level of subscriptions – though not in line with the objectives we had agreed to – show that Renault enthusiasts throughout Europe support the Renault Festival project and approve the choice of the Linas-Montlhéry Autodrome as the first venue.

This is why the Renault Festival will naturally take place at this same location on July 20th and July 21st 2013.

Organising the 1st Renault Festival in 2013 will also coincide with the 115th anniversary of the Renault Company and reinforce federative appeal of this event.

Subscriptions for the Renault Festival will be open from November 2012.

We will get back to you very soon to study different possibilities for your Clubs to actively contribute to the Renault Festival and celebrate the 115th anniversary of Renault.

I have no doubt that Renault can count on your renewed commitment and enthusiasm.

Best regards.

Stephen NORMAN

PS : people who already subscribed will receive a message about refunding within the next few days.

Decision made perhaps a little too early as we are still nearly 5 months off and a lot of people (especially the French who won't all need hotels) will wait until closer to the time to sign up. Unfortunately I guess people will be put off booking for the next one in case the same thing happens again. However at the last meeting we were promised full refunds including hotels if this happened. A shame.

Sent today to Renault

Dear All,

Obviously a real shame and we are very disappointed but can we please have your assurance that all the prospective UK participants will be fully refunded to include:

Registration fees
Currency transfer charges
Hotels
Eurotunnel
Ferries
Any other costs directly accrued

A lot of these advance travel bookings were made non-refundable by the operator to achieve the best rates.

Without this promise I’m sure we will find it difficult to persuade people to book for the re-scheduled event in 2013.

In any event I am sure potential participants for 2013 will unfortunately now delay registering until even later as a result.

Perhaps you could give participants the option to transfer their 2012 subscription to the new 2013 date?

Regards
Stephen

Words fail me at this time, well other than swear words.

I do not imagine many from over here chancing it for 2013, I can't see me going after this, especially as this is the wrong time of the year for me at work with a brand new college year only days old. I was only going this year as it was the first one and we have had the WSR taken off us!

The only thing that might change my mind would be a full refund of all money spent thus far, and a cast iron guarantee this will not be repeated in 2013!

I will calculate money spent on this and post it up on here later.

Maybe I should ask Christian Schmaltz if we can have the track at a knock down rate for a meet and still go for some proper track time at Monthlery?
