New to this forum - how many A310 owners are here?

Postby a310man » Wed Jun 08, 2005 6:24 pm

I have three A310 V6's; one is a standard 1982 version, one is a 1979 ex-DeLorean development car, the third is a 1977 Group5 ex-competition car with the 4-speed box. All are fit, well and used regularly. As I now live in Germany and have a house in France, I can attend many more Alpine gatherings where A310's are extremely popular. A year or two back I was A310 registrar for Club Alpine-Renault GB.

How many A310 owners are in this forum and do you want any pics? I have hundreds of A310 pics from all over the world.

Is Albert (Summers?) from Australia here?

Replies welcomed.

Would love to see pictures of the ex-competition car. If you look 2 threads down from your own you will see the 'want to join me as an A310 owner?' thread from Andy....think he could be the only one.....but I love his car!

Hi Dave,
Andy M-W here. How's life in the fatherland (I'm still jealous).
Still got the red 4 stud (from the oldtimer GP!) and the yellow 3stud with the silly bib front.
There aren't many of us here (it's imposing a little on the GTA boys site) and we mostly have other Alps as well (A110 - 1300 in my case).

Alby does come on here regularly and get pumped for info. I haven't seen him for a while, so maybe he's fed-up with us.....

Hi Andy M-W
It's nice to know you are still 'of the faith' and using your A310's. I have to travel south to see other Alpines usually, although there are one or two of us here in the far North! My 1982 version has just had the motor rebuilt and new paint - it looks absolutely superb and it will stay that way now I have retired the old boy from sprints etc.

Germany is as friendly as ever but as I don't have decent facilities here (a pair of single garages, no light, heat or power), I can't do all the work I would like but most jobs are possible. This weekend I am replacing the cooling tubes that run through the chassis. Stupidly, I didn't think about having them done when the car was in bits for the new paint. My fault, so I'll suffer for it. New stainless steel tubes going in so they'll never need replacing again.

How can I add pics to the forum?
Keep reading the forum and do keep in touch. I was looking at H M-W's book the other day and wondered how you were.

Regards to all on the forum (especially the A310 section!)

You need to upload your pics to your own web space if you've got any, or if not, to a free picture hosting site such as: http://www.photobucket.com/

Then, when you make a post, click the 'Img' button, paste the web address where your pictures are hosted, then click the 'Img' button again.

When you submit your post it should link to the site where your pics are hosted and automatically display them in the post.

Some one else might be able to explain more clearly if this sounds confusing! :?

Hi Dave,

Great to hear from you. Yes, I'm still around but have been fairly quiet on the car scene for the last few years for business reasons. Great to hear you've still got the A310 bug. I had to sell my V6 and 5Turbo a few years ago, but managed to end up with a 310 4 cylinder which is just about ready for some classic rallies. Should have its track debut in about 3 months. You'll find a good description of it on another thread on this site.

Hope you're enjoying Germany. I remember when you went there I wondered if it would mean a change in your Alpine activities. Glad to see you're unstoppable!

Cheers, Alby
