I must admit to not liking soft top cars but I actually really like the looks of that car both with the hood down or up, so much so I've sent off a cheeky little offer to the dealer.

No I can’t get there on Friday despite being on holiday due to other tasks that have been set by “her indoors”, including a run out to Ikea in Milton Keynes! Still must keep her happy as she never gets in the way of my car things, it’s only fair I suppose. I guess you are attending on Friday though? What about the auction will you be there? I will not be able to be there at the auction on Saturday either as I am committed to something else, if you do go then Good Luck, it would be nice to see this car for the first time!

Interestingly despite that French dealer telling you the Transcup was sold it is still on his website!

Yes, and he has always fancied a Venturi, though his sites are usually set at the 400's.

Popped over to Brooklands to have a good look around this today, I also spoke to the owner because the car was stone cold and the temp guage was at 80 and the oil pressure registering too, strange I thought for a car that hasn't been moved for days.
Overall its a lovely car and the photo's do not do it justice, its superbly clean inside and out and the car is 37800 kilometres not miles so a really low mileage everything feels so well put together.
Having seen a 300 in the flesh I prefer the 300 to the 200 so I don't think I'll go to the auction on Saturday just in case I get tempted and rashly get caught up in the moment and buy it. If you are after a 200 then I'd buy it without doubt.

I think the offers I proposed to the seller of the silver car and the one in France must have upset them because I got an e-mail from France saying the Transcup 210 was sold and the chap in London told me he had taken a deposit and despite giving him my number he has not called back.
I'm at the crossroads with my Esprit where I may decide to spend a lot of money on it which will commit me to keeping it a lot longer than I normally do, so buying another car seems a bit over the top as I get great pleasure from playing with the two I have and a third could be considered as a bit too over-indulgent.

I didn't bother going over on the auction day as I had decided I was not that keen on buying it so I have no idea if it sold and for what price but I'd be interested to know. The car is lovely but if I were going to buy it I would want to drive it around for an hour or two to decide if it was really what I wanted and there was no way that was going to happen. I did get the name of the owner though although no contact details.
