Door Hinge replacement

I've searched the forum for old info on this.
Basically I just want to ask how easy / difficult is the job?

In two minds whether to replace the whole hinge assembly or just clout out the old pin and try pressing a new one in.

I understand the existing hinge assembly is both bolted and bonded in place. Is it really necessary to hack the door to bits to remove or can you just unbolt and cut away around the hinge?

Only way to replace completely is to cut away the doors .Bottom hinge is bolted and bonded to the door inner .Take the door off ,4 bolts into A pillar + the roll pin for the tieback .
You might drift the pins out but need to support the door hinge very well or you will end up breaking the door .
If it will not shift then slit the pins on either side of the pillar mount portion .You should then be able to drift the middle section out on the bench .
Door half is a little more tricky as you cannot really get any force on it .I've slit the hinge to get the pins out then weld up and re drill to suit new oversize pins .
There is a small tophat bush within the hinge designed to take up wear but you will have to live without these after surgery .....

Probably best long term is to have at the doors but make sure hinges are available first

It's possible to change the hinges without chopping the door but you need the patience of a saint to do it, like hours and hours of patience!!!

It's drivers door top hinge that has worn badly.
Was contemplating drilling the old pin out and pressing a new pin in. But if a whole hinge replacement is the proper way then perhaps I should just do it.
