The chap who is offering the car for sale is a member of the Venturi Yahoo Discussion Group and has owned the car for many years. It is I believe in very good condition though I do not know about service history, I have a feeling he has done his own spanner work.

I seem to remember the owner asking how to change the water pump, though I may be wrong. If this is so then it is an engine out job, best check that one out if you are interested in the car.

As we are talking Venturi’s does anybody fancy a cheeky punt on this bit of kit?

It’s a 210 Transcup, (Transcoupe), or spyder to some. This is we believe the only right hand drive version made, it was sold to the U.K. and became the centre-fold of the Encyclopaedia of Supercars Venturi 210/260 entry.

The last UK owner lived in Preston and had the car nicely tidied up before eventually deciding to sell it. At that time there was no interest and it eventually dropped to £10,000 in 2008 at which time a French dealer came in for it.

To this day It is still in the French dealers hands and has always been advertised as POA, I guess he has been a little greedy especially as the French rarely like to buy a RHD car. So you know how much Frenchie paid for it and he has had it for over three years.

The Transcup has an interesting roof, it is a two piece fibreglass thing with a retracting rear window, it can be used like a targa with the roof panels removed but the rear window in place, or as a proper spyder with the rear window down.
The end result is a very handsome beast with the roof and rear screen down or a slightly awkward profile with it in place.

And it is rarer than a 300 Bi-turbo

It is a nice tidy car, I saw it before it sold back in 2006, not long after that the poor sod died and it was stored until recently. It went for just shy of £19000 then and now at this price it is most definitely over priced in my humble opinion

Not a big fan of droptops but that is rather lovely. Did they do a 300 Transcoupe?

They only ever made the Transcup's in the 210 & 260 body style. I think they actually proved a bit expensive and fiddly to make and thereby they left well alone with the 300.

I believe it was considered by Venturi and some drawings were made, I will try and find some pictures if they exist.

I personally have always thought this car, (in the previous post), as a Transcup and in this colour is a stunning bit of kit when the roof is down as per the pictures but with the roof fully up I am not so keen.

Roof up.

Fair comment Lee. I quite like the AC 3000, but the TVR wedge things are not nice.

Had a look for those 300 Transcup / Spyder pictures but the memory is not quite right I’m afraid. I found some drawings of a Communaute member’s visualisation of what a 300 Spyder would look like, and tidy drawings they were to, but not official drawings by Gerard Godfroy the Venturi stylist. I did however come across a drawing of his for a 200 / 260 Targa, much too Ferrari 308 GTS for my liking, that is probably why they went for the Transcup idea. I will enquire of the French owners if official drawings were made for a 300 Spyder.

Definately doesn't look right with the roof up! Everytime I see a 200/260, I can't helping thinking Ferrari 348. No bad thing in my eyes as it was a cracking looking car.

NO sorry John, every time you see a Ferrari 348 it reminds you of a Venturi 200/260.

Venturi 200 launched in 1985. Ferrari 348 launched in 1989.
