Peter - do you know a guy called David Baker - runs Ginettas at spints & hillclimbs and is involved in the Kaimes Car Club (I think that's what its called). I used to work beside him and he told me about someone who ran a GTA at some of the meetings he attended. Could that have been you?

If he was doing it last year then yes. I knew him years ago when I did a season in the Scottich sprint championship in 1991 (I won my class! 8) )......he had a Ginetta he used to share with his wife and boy were they slow!!!! Nice bloke and obviously a real enthusiast, just never seemed to go for it. At Knockhill he was going so slowly I caught him up (3/4 of a lap), got red flagged and got an extra run for free :D

That would be him - his wife did do some driving as well. Obviously he never told me the stuff about getting lapped in amongst the glory stories on a Monday morning :!:

I might try and come along to Forestburn on the 2nd as well. Its about time I introduced my kids to the joys of live motorsport.

I'm at Harewood this weekend, but I love Doune....when I do get round to doing it the GTA will be a real handful, sadly Wigton MC consistently resist my efforts to try and include Doune in the championship....but I will hopefully be at Kames in October. The Ginetta David and his wife had, had a 2 litre Pinto in it......without wanting to blow my own trumpet I had a Dutton Malaga with a single carb crossflow putting out less than 100bhp! Things do change over time mind....Ive got slightly slower without doubt...he has obviously got a bit quicker :D His wife beat him at the end of season Kames so she obviously was quicker!
P.S. you could have used your own name  and Ive nothing to be careful about.....I was commenting on 1991, told the truth and I dont think even you thought you were quick back then!

It was dry...I have a scrap book of it all as it was my first year of speed events....your wife clocked 167 secs....you may not have competed at that one as I dont seem to have a time for you, I must have been thinking about your wife in my anecdote.
As for not posting stories because someone may be reading....I think you need to go on some other more lively forums that Ive seen where people have to be threatened by moderators! No I didnt think you'd read it, but then why would you? I kept the comment polite and didnt refer to current circumstances only that year....and I apologise if I have caused offence but as you pointed out it was a long time ago.
I dont suppose the 2 month delay in spotting this thread is down to the fact that youve now bought a real thoroughbred and are joining the forum??

Oh, come on girls, Behave! Talking of girls, and given that the subject of this thread (A610 on Ebay), I don't think it innapropriate to to suggest that we have pics of female drivers/racers (wet as they me be, from Knockhill) on the website. :D :o :D I'm still trying!
