IS THE ABOVE FIGURE CORRECT? JUST RECEIVED PERFORMANCE FRENCH CAR MAG, ON THE ROLLING ROAD SECTION THERE IS A WHITE GTA ACHIEVING GOOD BHP IS THAT CORRECT? I THOUGHT THAT SORT OF POWER WAS IMPOSSIBLE IN A 2.5 GTA, UNLESS YOU GO CRAZY WITH ££££££££££££££££££££££££££

Sorry missed that thread.......... Amazing figures though.....Well done guys, I always understood that the biggest problem with the GTA Turbo were the exhaust manifolds holding all the power back........

Scoff's car, I guess you must wear a neck brace when driving it.....

It was always thought the manifolds were a restriction from about 285bhp but a couple of people have managed to pass that now.

Scoff's car, I guess you must wear a neck brace when driving it.....

Guess he'll be looking for a 9.99 now and the first 9 second Renault 5. Amazing stuff.

All he needs is a good run when everything hooks up sweetly ...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DE5DfQpK ... re=related

GTA Manifolds are restrictive but that's not the whole story ...
Will's car has no headwork , just cams and std mani layout but with some collector work .....
We have another in-car lump with headwork but no cams that will be ready to test proper in Jan .
CC just installed as well so will be interesting to see what happens and what figures it produces ...Of course this is all practical work not theory :wink:

JIL is undergoing stupid amounts of engine work that is going to require headers ....

That was 275 with more in the can, as it was only on 240cc injectors and needed more fuel... I'm sure it will have another incremental upgrade at some point. 380s should see it to the 300 mark, and I think that will be a nice safe limit considering it's OE compression etc as Lee says.

The more impressive point is the torque 325 ft-lbs... and that's a measured number not seat of pants...
... A diamond is only a piece of coal that did well under pressure... PRV afflicted, may be I need to squeeze harder!!!!

That's great 275bhp on cams and mods, that will make the GTA very rapid anyway 8) look how well a 610 goes with that sor of power, how do the torque figues delivery compare to the 3ltr lump? Will you not need to change exhaust manifolds to clear the 300bhp wall?
