A610 on E-bay

Postby mettersl » Thu May 19, 2005 8:38 pm

Hello Alpineists- have you spotted this yet?
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... Track=true

I spoke to this guy a couple of months ago when it was in Autocar- sounded OK but I did not go and see the car as I live in the South.
Velour interior, A/C did not work then, but had a lot of history. Missing the battery box cover if I remember rightly too.
Anyone know any more?

When I spoke to him (March) he was asking 10,500 but was prepared to negotiate downwards.
Car had done just over 100k (from what I remeber) and had been bought from a friend of his. He is a long distrance lorry driver (I think) and spends a lot of time out of the country- so I found the communication sporradic too, but when I spoke to him he seemed open and genuine.
Good luck- sounded worth a trip- I wanted a leather interior, otherwise I would have gone and looked at it.
If you do go and see it, do post what you think!

Thats now 5 A610's I know of with the same inherant cutting out fault. Whats the problem with it idling? You may want to renew the usuals such as cap, rotor arm, leads, or use my diagnostic unit, as it could be sensor related (coolant and TPS/lambda could be at fault and will cause erratic idle. Ive had to supply a few A610s recently with new coolant sensors because of faults..

From cold its a heel toe job, when its up to temp its rough,I'm going to service the engine asap to see if that helps, if not i could try your diagnostic unit

Thanks for the help
