A610cutting out FIXED

Postby Andythecroc » Sat Dec 03, 2011 10:55 pm

Hey every one. Not been on here for a while.

I could not get my A610 to run while hot despite all the helpful advice that I got.

I sent it to city motors the Renault dealer in Bristol back in July and I got it back last week.

The charged me £450 with an MOT but what they have told me they done does not add up to what may have been causing the problem but nevertheless with their XR25 diagnostic equipment it is running good. AT LAST.

They did how ever fail the MOT due to the park brake reverse travel. Told me to get the hand brake adjusted and that should do the trick.

I have seven clicks and had it adjusted to two. They failed the retest on the same thing and gave the car back with ten clicks. How is that so ?

Not that want me to pay an hours labour to fix.

Also while it was there the centre console storage compartment lid has been broken off. (it appears that somebody tried opening it from the drivers side)

So I need a lid if anyone has one please.

Also I would like to replace the handbrake cables but they are not available.

Any advise please would be very much appreciated.

I'm glad to get it back, it's lovely lol

Many thanks

Andy

I got the handbrake cables from Simon Auto. I think you will be very lucky to find the broken interior part though.

There are definitely multiple causes of cutting out anyway. I'm convinced mine has done it for 3 different reasons at different times (ECU heat, bad battery/alternator, and unknown).

My console lid also has broken hinges, I keep meaning to get around to trying some little metal door hinges on it. Might as well reverse it so it opens the right way around at the same time...
