MEC Tour Sun 4th Dec 11am - Grasshopper Inn, Near Westerham
The Matra Enthusiasts Club welcomes you to our meeting on Sunday
December 4th. We are reintroducing the MSA (Motor Sports Association)
"Touring Assembly" - a simplified rally of 26 miles - through country lanes
avoiding main roads where possible. We leave the Grasshopper Inn,
Moorhouse, TN16 2EU (on A25 leave at J6 M25) around noon (leaving at 3 or
4 minute intervals) and arrive at River View Café, Station Road, Forest Row,
RH18 5DW around 2pm.
The Grasshopper Inn, now refurbished under new ownership, is able to
provide Breakfast (& Coffee) for the ‘early birds’ beforehand as they will
already be open for a Wedding party. Sadly all their new overnight
accommodation is taken. The Café’s owner at our destination also aims to
organise a Classic Car meeting should you only be able to join us later. If
later in the day, you require a more substantial meal, there are many other
pubs and restaurants in the vicinity.
The route is set out in a detailed road book with instructions for every
junction. A working mileometer ("odometer" - in either miles or km) will be
very helpful! All roads used are suitable for road cars, for which we have
MSA approval, and "rally" equipment or vehicles are not needed. A
navigator will be helpful although "driver only" cars are just as welcome. No
special equipment, maps, competition licence or insurance are required. Any
make of car will be welcome preferably classic - the more the merrier as we
are already expecting a number of other Clubs to join us.
It would be helpful if you can let Andy Owler (or Chris House) know in
advance your proposed vehicle (ie car details & No. of occupants) to avoid
unnecessary registration delays on the day. We can then reserve an entry for
you and also prepare sufficient entry forms, maps etc.
The road book and paperwork will be issued in the car park of the
Grasshopper Inn, Nr. Moorhouse TN16 2EU from 11am (as indicated Coffee
and Breakfast will also be available beforehand). Please come to the far end of
the car park and look for the Matras as it is likely to be busy!
We do hope you are able to join us all.
