Wheeler Dealers

Postby clee » Wed Nov 02, 2011 8:21 pm

I've had a couple of calls from the production team in the last week .Seems they have bought a Frenchy A310 for the next series and are in need of parts .
All I could say was contact SimonAuto or Mecaparts as there is no one this side of the channel .
Anyway they were after some wheel bearings

I did mention Mr Sage .
They had contacted him but he'd used the last stock on his own car .

I came across this website recently looking for an A310 V6 radiator which they have.
Here is the page for wheel bearings.

http://www.axauto-parts.com/boutique/ca ... tegory=352

Looking through all the categories they appear to do several Alpine items. I've not used them yet so don't have any user experience. They may be of interest though.

I think Mr Dell is only offering £1200 for it.... so they will be seeling it on-line instead.

Eddie,
Just to confirm, you bought the radiator from Axauto in France?
I think I will be doing the same as I've not had much luck with UK searches.

ally rad.

Postby E M Wynne » Tue Nov 08, 2011 12:56 pm

John,
Yes I bought my rad. from Axauto & was delighted with their product..you,ll need to make up some flexable mountings...U brackets lined with rubber so the rad. isn,t taking any loads...no problems so far.
Cheers Eddie.

Thanks Eddie,
I might be able to reuse the rubber mounts that were on the original radiator or obtain something similar.

John, I don`t know if I have missed something here, but you can get your original radiator re-cored.

I took it to a radiator specialist (30 years +) who did say they could recore but couldn't guarantee leak free joints where the original, re-used plastic headers attach to the core. Their only solution was a complete aluminium radiator. I also tried a second contact and they could only do a complete aluminium radiator also. In comparison the Axauto-parts is attractive and I've ordered from them today.

I guess your car is a 3 xtud then, Some 3 stud cars and all (I think) 4 stud cars had metal ends. 6/7 years back I had the same problem on the 3 stud so I went for a +35% upgrade from meca parts. Not cheap but effective.

Yes, it's a 3 stud.
