If it turns out to be a re-badged Nissan or Renault I'd rather they didn't make it. Can't stand that kind of crappy badge engineering. What a travesty to the marque it would be. Jean Rédélé would be turning in his grave. Discounting the mid-engined race cars, unless it's rear engined with it's own unique backbone chassis it just won't be an Alpine will it!

Lol you'd think they'd have learnt their lesson with V6. Well I'd like to think so ...it had better not be front drive or poxy electric sorry that would be unaceptable

To be honest I dont care where the engine comes from as long as its not a Dainippon electric.

For me personally the 24 valve V6 was a wasted engineering exercise

For those that dont agree with with my veiwpoint I base my comparison on a 3.2 ltrs lump fitted to tne M3 mereley 70 to 80 brake short

Bring on a newer engine as the power acheived from all the extra weight in terms of cams valves etc did not justify the weight. 240bhp fronm a 24 valve prv on injection has been acheived on a standard lump ....wow what and advance and I beleive the engine, doesnt event respond well to cams only thing I hope is that its a v6  rear or mid mounted.

Only pleased to hear The Alpine brand has been revived if its lives up to the reputation  not like the reinvention of Gordini a waste

The only confimed fact was that it will not be a re-badge, but a unique shape.

Nothing too retro and nothing too up market I hope.

My favourite 'rumour' prototype shape was this.... with a 2l turbo in the back.
