New owner of Paul's A610

Postby B1 RMA » Wed Oct 12, 2011 5:34 pm

I'd just like to introduce myself as a new member having bought the car from Paul on this forum. I've had fun and games getting logged on but with the help of Stephen I'm here now.
As well as the A610 I have a 2001 V8 Esprit which is a brutal projectile compared to the A610 but both cars are different enough to make driving either interesting and fun. I've always wanted a GTA Turbo but considered the A610 to be a bit further down the development evolution line rather like the V8 Esprit is to the earlier models. Both cars get used regularly as I love wasting money on V-Power petrol and as an owner insist on keeping them in tip top condition.
I have a few plans for the A610 the first being a considerable upgrade of the stereo and speakers which are all now installed. The next part will require some help from members of this forum, I have decided I prefer the wheels to be as they were originally so if anyone has any idea what the original RAL colour for them is I'd appreciate your help as I'm going to get them done fully by a local wheel specialist.

Glad you are enjoying the car david, as I told you the club will be very helpful and freindly. I loved the wheels in the grey but each to there own, I am glad she is being pampered by a fellow car lover.

Same paint code as Avantime roof gutters.

Finish is not very nice but original. As Andy says done for cost cutting not quality. Get them done gloss and they will look much better IMO and easier to clean.

Thanks for the welcome everyone,
I live in Lovedean in Hampshire, I guess its going to have to be a near as possible regarding the wheels the local company 'The wheel specialists' seem to do a very high quality job but you do pay for it so I would like to get it right first time so I need to get as near to original as possible as they had about 10 shades of silver wheels on the wall I think I'll go for a semi gloss finish thats easy to clean.
I do enjoy driving the car Paul and have put hundreds of miles on it since collecting it.
If anyone is interested there is our local Pistonheads breakfast club meeting this Sunday at the West Meon Hut it starts at 9 am and the breakfast is huge and good. Its on the A272/A32 crossroads in Hampshire and hopefully the weather will be o.k. so if anyone is at a loose end this Sunday I'll be there with the car.

That sounds tempting, West Meon Hut is not that far from me and is a nice drive.Might pop down to that in the Avantime if the weather is OK.

The Alpine is out of MOT and I am waiting for a rear NS caliper :(

There do seem to be a few owners in the Hampshire area now perhaps some kind of monthly meet might be an idea.

I've invited a few guys from some of the Lotus forums to the Pistonheads gatherings, there is always a good turn out of many varied cars so it may be an idea to keep an eye out for South Coast gatherings in the form of Pub Club and Breakfast Club. I'm really hoping the weather will be good for this Sunday

A bit off topic but I notice you have a Trafic van, I run an 11 reg Trafic Sport LWB and have had Superchips re-map it, boy does it go like a rocket and it's returning 40 mpg all of the time this is confirmed by the trip computer and filling it right up and checking mileage
