HELP!! Getting Parts for GTA Turbo..

the two ends of the cables fit in to a clip, behind that is a D shapeded carrier with a hole for the mounting pin. i drilled a new hole further forward to allow things to reach and fit together.
no MR DELL never answers emails or pm's you have to phone him, its the only way

Ok I managed to fit the cables, at the weekend, with no drilling or anything, fitted right in place....
As for the adjustment?? I did the min of 7 clicks etc and wound the calipers back and all that they say to do, and the lever feels strange? like there is no resistance, like a normal handbrake you find in other cars... I adjusted it so it pulls on the cables and it just about works, in the flat, but crap if inclined.. are these handbrakes usualy poor?? I feel this would fail an MOT.. and if I adjust the level to feel more and have a resistance, then the levers at the calipers do not fully return, and I guess the self adjusters will not work then.. and yes I have jumped a few times on the pedal to get the adjusters to set... the foot brake works perfectly..
How do you guys get on with your handbrakes??

you've had a spot of good luck there with those cables. the hand brake on the gta's are rubbish, try driving the car a bit, working the brakes then readjust the hand brake, see if it beds in.
mine only works well if i depress the foot brake and then put the hand brake on

To adjust the handbrake to work - disconnect one of the cables (either one), remove the pads and wind the pistons back. Refix the pads and pins etc., and pump the foot pedal until the pads are back tight against the disks. Check that the disks are free to turn, now reconnect the cable. You may need to adjust the cable to reconnect. Your handbrake should now work!! Not the best handbrake but should hold the car on a steep hill and get you through an MOT.

I think these callipers work best with loose cables (like Turbodog explained) as this gets the maximum movement in the arms against which the pistons move in.
Having the cable too tight stops the adjustment working.
Despite all this I find the handbrake is the MOT item I always worry about.

Thanks for the advise guys. I think Just for the MOT i will make it feel like a normal car with some resistance and then wind is back to the correct settings... Most MOT guys have never seen a GTA so I am not going to try and explain that it is different to others.. Ok I have just posted a few pics of my car, in the projects area, and will do more tomorrow...
