I have just been speaking with Andrew (turbodog) about the North Wales Tour and as time is running short we have a provisional list of members who have shown an interest in coming, so if the Tour is to go ahead, can members confirm if they wish to attend, and any others who wish to be added to the list, can they let us know so arrangements can be made please.
It would be a shame if it was cancelled due to lack of interest, as it is an excellent get together with some spirited scenic driving, and some good socialising. Confirmed date 3rd & 4th September.
The provisional list so far is as follows:-

Turbodog + 1............confirmed
JohnC + 1................confirmed
Paul Goldsmith + ?.
jb644 + ?
mogster242 + ?
Jules + 1
Juzzblack.................confirmed

anyone else ???

Hmm, there doesn't seem to be that many up for it, so I think it's best if we cancel it for this year and look to hold it again in 2012 earlier in the year ?

what about september all the kids back.to skool and less holiday traffic the weather will pick up again towards october mark my words. Possibly look at cheaper hotels in the area to keep costs down. The first hotel we stayed in was great and good value. The second very nice but when you consider that anyone can walk into the restraunt and eat. we then spend the whole evening in the bar eating and drinking so we dont see the room until bedtime it seems a little frivalous to spend £110 watching my eyelids and a quick shower in the morning only to rush off for more splendid Welsh drivers roads.

Mr Turbodog this is in no way a criticism just a veiwpoint from a poor alpine owner who has thoroughly enjoyed two previous trips but timing and money have put the mockers on it this year on that particular date.
Its a fantastic trip and one i would recommend and.you have always done a.fantaztic job of organising. Just.a suggestion or two to try and revive the event for this year

I would have gone actually. Always do and had prebooked parents as well! Spoke to Andrew in the week about this and he said unless there was a last minute rush he would have to cancel. Just to many events on this year and too little money around. Maybe it should be biannual like classic Le mans?

I want to KICK this off the ground again.

I missed the chat through the year as I had no internet connection.

I'm on for a trip.

Wales was FANTASTIC and Andrew is a great hard working guy who is also FANTASTIC too.

Come on guys, more meetings = more craic!

I know an Ireland meeting would not happen as I watch how hard some of you guys find it to organise meetings with out a ferry.........

COME ON......BIG EFFORT NEEDED..... IT IS A CLUB AFTER-ALL

Don't panic we will sort it this year. Last year there were jollies and WSR all in August so that's why we didn't go ahead with it.

It would be nice to do NI or the whole of Ireland but as you say I think takers would be few and far between due to costs.

Ireland Meet

Postby StephenB » Mon Jan 30, 2012 8:23 am

Richard,
It may be difficult to get the mainlanders over to the island but what about an Ireland meet for those of us that are lucky enough to own Alpines???
We could them find out exactly how many are lurking and see if we could attract a few more top the club. I would be interested in doing a show North or South. Indeed I could organise a stand at the big Dublin show in Terenure (July) if there is interest.

Let me know your thoughts or indeed if anyone fancies a weekend in the Emerald isle let's see what we can organise.

Regards,
StephenB
