Fair Fuel UK

This campaign is being run by Peter Caroll, the chap who got Joanna Lumley involved over the Guerkha campaign last year. He also nearly upset the Tories at the elections for Maidstone and the Weald, and happens to be a friend of my mum.......

So please support the campaign by signing the petition, this bloke might actually make things happen.

Signed, but I really don't believe it will achieve anything.

Well as it happened, fuel duty was lowered by 1p and the (then) upcoming rise was scrapped! Now it's on to round two... and if you've been watching the news lately, you'll have seen the new Government e-petition site.

Fair Fuel UK have been quick off the mark, and after setting theirs up yesterday (by an MP no less), have had over 5000 signatures overnight! Please add yours to the list and remember, 100,000 signatures on a sensible issue virtually guarantees debate in the House of Commons!

New Government, new website. I think this was one of the points they made, that the old one was pretty much ignored. They were careful to promote sensible petitions though, unlike the one calling for Jeremey Clarkson to become prime minister

Lets see if this one makes it (reinstate the rolling 'historic car' free road tax); http://epetitions.direct.gov.uk/petitions/183
