As I understand it these are too agressive for the road but very good for the track ; http://www.davemacprops.com/dmpgripperapplications.html

If you read their blurb it it says progressive and adjustable to suit the driver?

Agressive .....Just weld it up

I was really looking to be able to drop the gearing as suggested by Mr Faulks but it would seem that that is not possible.

Samller wheels is not an option as I went for larger rims to make tyre purchase more affordable.

Change the diff

Postby Tony Smith » Tue Jul 12, 2011 8:23 pm

Cheapest way to lower the gearing is to get a nice low ratio (numerically higher) diff. Surely the Master van was fitted with a lower diff than the cars. I want one two
Alpines - GTA 3.0 Turbo, GTA 3.0 Inj (Project DD), GTA 6.2 V8 (500 bhp) , R32 Skyline GTR, BMW Alpina B10 635 Highline, Alpina B10 E39 5 Series, Jaguar 4.2 XKR, Laguna 205GT, BMW 120d.

The master diff only fits the un5 box ( bigger near the diff)., they are sought after by the Australian buggy brigade as they can be toughened up to take lots of torque with an input shaft upgrade and have the 4 planet diff ( like the 610 box).
They do turn up on eBay but I question if they would fit a GTA.
I have a un1 and un5 in the shed so will get the tape measure out at the weekend.
One thing they ain't is light.
The un1 has a 25t diff so I might be persuaded into a swap if that would help.I haven't checked ratio's but remember it being shorter than the GTA.
Must read clees book

If I remember correctly the gear ratios are the same as a 21 Turbo box except for may be 4th and 5th or just 5th which is a taller gear.

I am trying to get what car/box does what in the hope I might be able to build a special on a budget. :?:

The 21T is the same as an Atmo box so is a GTA turbo the same as a 25 T it seems to stand to reason?

That would be great Lee, thinking about it I think the 25 has the same gear ratios as the GTA turbo but like MF was saying a lower differential.

So ti would be the lower diff ratio of the 25 box that I require  rarer than Poo les Rocking Orse
