Ahhh not so good :? There are always second hand calipers around Big MVS may have some or the like.

The welding may be trickier espesially if there is fibre glass involved. There are some articles about the rear suspention turets and their repair.

Good luck I am sure you will be able to get lots of help from members here especially those that have had this issue.

On the handbrake - sometimes all that's needed is some adjustment.

Mine failed on the handbrake just the other week. I didn't think it was so bad but after the fail, I thought someone had stolen the car off the drive until I saw that it had just rolled down to the end by itself!

Interestingly, it was the newly re-conditioned calliper with a new handbrake cable that was causing trouble. These were new 2 years ago but apparently the new cable was stretched and there was no pull on the calliper. Got a pair of new cables from Simon Auto and all good now.

Cedric, its all about winding in the pistons, and then how to "reset" the caliper, easy job mate, Andrew will talk you through it in no time at all.

If it is just the wishbones that need welding, you'll get than done in a week or so. I got the whole of the bottom plate on both of mine replace at the sart on May, couple of hours to get them off, same again to grind off all of the ols plate, fabricator made up a new plate.... and welded it on, then all I did was to prepare and paint them. Tokk a while to get them back on though..

Simon, do you know if it would be possible to compete at Gurston Down in another car if the GTA is not ready for the 17th?

Hi mogster
It shouldn't be a problem as long as you have something thats eligable, but roadgoing should't been a problem though. It would be a wise idea to give the organiser the heads up. Simon will be able to advise better than me though.

A second place at Lydden, only loosing out to the unbeatable Roger Burgess. Did beat the Anglia again and also a Lotus Exige along with the double driven Mazda's so was happy with second.
I'll let Simon report on his day.........

Next up is the re-vamped Hethel in Norfolk on August 7th.

The 2 day national championship due for Lydden has been cancelled due the organising club (London Irish) calling it a day. Which is a shame. Never mind, I might put the money saved towards some afternoon Lydden action.......Will keep you posted.
